The Behaviour Change Clinic was founded by Tana Richards, M.Ed., BCBA, in 2007. Starting as an ABA tutor during her college career, Tana immediately fell in love with working with children with autism and the difference ABA made in their and their families lives.
Since moving to the UK in 2002, Tana has worked with over 75 children with all types of disabilities including Autism, Aspergers, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Downs Syndrome, ADHD, Social-Communication delays, and Childhood Disintegrative Disorder. Tana has worked in both state and independent schools and nurseries throughout the UK, offering ABA/VB consultation services and training. She has also done some consultation work for the NHS. Tana has attended several Educational Tribunals as an expert witness throughout the UK, and has experience working with highly regarded solicitors, advocates, and educational psychologists.
Tana’s goal is to teach children to communicate, to be successful in academics, to want to and enjoy engaging in social interaction with both peers and adults, and to prepare and integrate individuals into society as they become older. Tana believes that parents should not have to bankrupt themselves just to run ABA/VB programmes for their child, and as such offers parents affordable consultation rates and packages based on their current funding source. Tana has also provided pro-bono work to some families in the UK.
Tana is based in Vancouver, Canada and oversees all of the programmes at The Behaviour Change Clinic on a regular basis via monthly meetings with our Associates and weekly meetings with our Consultants. Tana returns to the UK every 6 months and sees all clients during this time.
